This is a meme i know i won't complete (i know i will not post a quote every day, but i'll make up with more quotes when i post ^^) but one i couldn't resist. I love memes, and i love quotes so how could i pass this when i saw babycin taking on this project. really i simply had to do it myself too!

Ok obviously i couldn't wait (did i really think i would?) and while my book is on its way i went and downloaded the e-book to get ahead and read the new Merry Gentry novel, which i did all into the night without being able to bring myself to a stop.
215 pages of pure unadulterated fun which gave me one of the best times in the last months, a book you can define simple but in the most good sense of the word, without ridiculous pretensions, written in a compelling way to entertain the reader.

Yes i've decided Merry Gentry series if for sure one of my favourite ever, and decidedly i love it even better than Anita's one.

I rarely have such carefree moments in my life anymore and getting to smile without any thought in my head for hours, with a light heart is one of the thing i've come to cherish the most, and this novel gave it all to me.
People can argue plot doesn't get on much or there are quite a few incongruities, but what does this count when each single word is enjoyable and so good to keep you going on line after line avidly? How come great piece of modern literature never bring me the same childlike joy or the broad smile?
Sometime a book need to be judged not by standard critical means but by the sense of fulfillment it offers, like you couldn't be spending your time doing anything better than keep reading, lost in a fantasy world where bad things in the end turn into good ones, where love and passion really conquer all, friendship is what keep people together and negative feelings has no place to linger for long. Unreal? Yes, totally. Good, heartwarming, soul healing? Yes again, and everyone need it once in a while.

The only negative thing about Merry novels is they always finish too soon and i'm left desperately wishing for more!
I even love Merry very much, she is far more endearing than Anita, or at least she just clicks a lot more to me.
She is good, loyal, open and reasonable without being weak, she is strong without being unjustifiable bitchy, powerful yet sweet and able to accept confort when feeling vulnerable,she knows how to be hard and cruel when there are no other options but she makes herself offer second chances when someone deserves them. She is warm, generous, determined and she care for her people without becoming irrational.
yeah i really like her and i didn't realized how much till i was jotting this!
the more i think about how she is portrayed the more i realize she is one of those rare feminine characters able to charm and sneak under my skin without doing exceptional things (well exceptional for the world she lives in ^^) from the start she's gained my affection a bit more with every new book

About the men i don't even need to start because really what's there not to love about Doyle, Frost, Sholto, Rhys, Galen, Kitto, Mistral and so on? My fave ones as usual are the Darkness, the Killing Frost, and the King of the Slouagh but even those appearing just for fleeting time are truly enchanting.

Really this is a series i would suggest to anyone wishing to sped some time away of normal daily life troubles, hopefully we will get a lot more books telling these delightful adventures.

Per colpa della mia sbadataggine ho saltato l'inaugurazione di oggi pomeriggio, perdendomi i locum (dolcetti tipici turchi).

La scrittura di Pamuk mi sta entrando dentro dolcemente, avvolgendomi come una sciarpa di lana.

Ha senso leggerlo sul treno, la sera, quando la stanchezza rende più vulnerabili.

Nelle orecchie lascio scivolare "Via con me" di Paolo Conte, ovatta soffice che mi isola dagli altri abitanti del vagone.

Amo questo periodo perché le luci di Natale arginano la malinconia, un po' come Pamuk stempera la stanchezza.

"Istanbul" è un libro che parla dell'amore viscerale per la città in cui si nasce, che lascia solchi nella carne, mentre viene ridisegnata attraverso i ricordi.

A volte mi ritrovo come una cretina a carezzare le foto che lo arricchiscono, neanche fossero quelle della mia infanzia.

Forse è perché anch'io ho lo stesso amore strampalato, le stesse fantasie folli, la stessa malinconia nel cuore.

More Italian fans for GKill! And vedova_nera is a Brad/Ray shipper as well and that makes me uber-happy! *_____________*

o4) I finished reading A Song of Ice and Fire. Whoah. Epic!comment next time! :) Meanwhile here there are my ships and my favourite characters!
